Short Bio:
Born in Cassino (FR) , Igor has taken advantages from the proximity of Rome and Naples , cities of art and culture. Freelance Photographer for Agence photographique La Collection, in Paris, Igor Todisco works for the most various fields of photography : from architecture , approached with the eye of a scholar besides that of a photographer ; to naturalist for parks and reservations. Photographer of advertising, food and chefs , since 2006 he has been teaching photography classes and workshops all over Italy in public and private institutions.
In 2022 Igor is co-author of the fourth volume of the “Academy of Photography” published by Rizzoli-Corriere della Sera and in 2021 he is co-author of the master in photography published by Rizzoli-Corriere della Sera. The project was supervised by Nikon, company with which Igor Todisco has been cooperating since 2018 as a Nikon master (teacher of photography).
“Leading lines, central perspectives, vanishing points, light and darkness, a gaze towards the sky, these are the essential features of the works of the photographer Igor Todisco. A man who doesn’t let himself be drawn by the appearances of ordinary life, yet looks into the essence of the soul starting from a scream.” This is how Raffaele di francisca (art critic) describes the work of Igor Todisco, professional photographer and art director, associated to TAU VISUAL (national association of professional photographers of Italy) and NPS (Nikon Professional Service).
“Igor Todisco’s works are dramatic , of that drama which only photography can convey: the most instantaneous and truthful medium which catches the artist’s gaze and gives it back, the dynamism of lines and vanishing points that lead us to the meaning of restless photographs , where one can get lost and perhaps finds themselves back. Thinking about them as a corpus of works, it is possible to get a glimpse of the artist’s torment , analysed through his works , like a reportage of our own hard path of life.” Martina Valente (art critic) about the photographs showcased at the Biennale Della Fotografia Anno Zero.
Igor has received numerous awards and prizes in national and international Photography contests. His works have been requested and sold by art galleries in New York , Madrid , and Bejiing. (). in 2015 he has participated at Biennale di Fotografia organized and directed by Vittorio Sgarbi and Gregorio Grasso in the meantime with Expo Milano. In 2014 some of his photos were showcased in the national hall of Chinese photography. In 2008 one of his pictures was displayed in the Hall of the Theatre of Madrid . In 2006/2007 Igor was the first among 16 budding photographers in the —Nikon Photo Contest international, and was the only Italian present in that category. He invented the particular technique of photographic shooting and photographic restitution called “Photo Stitch by Levels”.
